Finery & Kogi BBQ will donate tacos from the truck to support our friends at No Us Without You LA who are providing food security to over 1,500 of the most disenfranchised and vulnerable hospitality workers affected by the pandemic. Every week they provide pantry essentials and fresh produce to back-of-house staff such as dishwashers, line, and prep cooks.
The Kogi BBQ apron is inspired by and pays homage to the taqueros and taqueras all throughout the past and present day LA. These are a mash-up pattern cut of the actual aprons worn in Mexico, LA trucks and taquerias, and in Korean restaurants and catering houses. They’re somewhat thin, lightweight, wide on top, short on bottom for mobility, super flowy, and filled with colors that make you smile. Kogi has always been about the roots and never takes for granted our place in the taco universe, so we wanted our aprons to embody the culture. We’ve just given it some natural fun dyes, added some new cross stitching, and put our logo on it. But the soul is eternal. They’re designed to feel like a part of you when cooking, almost like a t-shirt. And when you’re done working or on a break, just roll ‘em up, and toss them in the back seat, your purse or pocket until you’re ready to cook again. They're a part of you.
