Care Instructions

FOR ALL FABRICS

  • Wash dark colors separately, especially during the first few washes.

  • Do not overload the washer or dryer.

  • Remove garments promptly from the dryer to reduce wrinkling.

  • Avoid high heat unless specifically instructed on the garment care label.

Always follow the sewn-in care label for the specific garment.

100% Cotton

JERSEY, OXFORD, POPLIN, TWILL, FRENCH TWILL, CANVAS, DENIM, CHAMBRAY, PIQUE

EXPECT

Up to 3–5% shrinkage during the first few washes. Some fading is normal over time, especially with darker colors, denim, and heavily washed fabrics.

WASH

Machine wash cold with like colors.

DRY

Tumble dry low or hang dry when possible.

AVOID

Hot water, high dryer heat, and over-drying.

STAINS

For white cotton, use an oxygen-based stain remover when possible. Chlorine bleach should only be used sparingly, diluted, and on white garments only. Direct or repeated bleach use can weaken fibers and shorten the life of the garment.

Linen & Linen Blends

EXPECT

Up to 3–5% shrinkage during the first few washes. Linen naturally softens, relaxes, wrinkles, and fades slightly with wear and washing. That is part of the fabric, not a defect.

WASH

Machine wash cold with like colors.

DRY

Tumble dry low or hang dry.

IRON / STEAM

Use low to medium heat as needed.

NOTE

If wrinkling is a concern, choose a linen blend. Linen blends are easier to maintain but will still have some natural texture.

Poly/Cotton Blends

EXPECT

Minor shrinkage, generally less than 100% cotton.

WASH

Machine wash cold or warm with like colors.

DRY

Tumble dry low or medium.

AVOID

High heat, which can affect shape, finish, and long-term wear.

Polyester & Performance Fabrics

EXPECT

Excellent durability, color retention, quick drying, and strong resistance to shrinkage.

WASH

Machine wash cold or warm.

DRY

Tumble dry low or medium.

AVOID

High heat, fabric softener, and direct ironing unless the care label allows it. High heat can damage synthetic fibers, create shine marks, or permanently affect the surface of the fabric.

Suiting, Dresses & Specialty Fabrics

TROPICAL WOOL, WOOL BLENDS, POLY WOOL, SHARKSKIN POLY, BARBIE GABARDINE, STRETCH DOUBLE CREPE

Structured garments, lined pieces, wool-based fabrics, and specialty dress fabrics should be dry cleaned only unless the garment care label says otherwise.

CARE

EXCEPTION

Cotton jersey, linen, and linen-blend dresses may follow the fabric-specific care instructions above.

Aprons

PREP

Tie apron straps loosely before washing to reduce tangling and stress on the seams.

WASH

Machine wash cold or warm with like colors.

DRY

Tumble dry low.

AVOID

Excessive dryer time and high heat. Too much tumbling can twist straps, weaken stitching, and shorten the life of the apron.
