CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Unlike most traditional uniform companies, we try and use natural fibers wherever possible. Not only does it look better, but it’s way less impactful on the environment. Please keep in mind the following when caring for your gear.

When in doubt, reach out to your rep or drop a line to info@finery.la

100% COTTONS

(jersey, oxford, poplin, twill, canvas, denim, chambray)

100% natural fibers will always shrink 3-5% within the first 4 washes (approximately 1/4 – 1/2 size). And like a good denim, there will be some fading over time. To slow the process, wash on cold or tap water setting and tumble dry on low or medium heat. For stains on white tops, you can use a diluted bleach solution or stain remover and apply directly to spot, massaging it out, before placing in the washing machine. Stain removers and bleaches weaken fibers in the fabric and over time can cause the garment to rip more easily.

LINEN & LINEN BLENDS

Much like 100% cottons, linens have a 3-5% shrink within the first 4 washes (approximately 1/4 – 1/2 size). This fabric also fades slightly over time. Linens and linen blends are more delicate and will definitely wrinkle while on shift- this is the natural beauty of linen. If wrinkling is an issue, please consider another fabric. Linens should be washed on cold or tap water setting and tumble dried on low heat. Iron on low to medium temp to get out any excessive wrinkles.

COTTON/POLY BLENDS

The combination of natural and synthetic fibers in blends adds durability, longevity and color stay properties. There is still a 3-5% shrink within the first 4 washes (approximately 1/4 – 1/2  size). Machine wash on tap or warm water setting and dry on low or medium heat.

POLY

Synthetic fibers will be your most durable fabric. There is miniscule to no shrinkage and it holds its color better than any natural fiber ever could. Machine wash on tap or warm water setting and dry on low or medium heat. Poly does not require ironing and generally holds up well against wrinkling when on the job.

SUITING, DRESSES, & NYLON BOMBERS

(tropical wool, poly wool, crepe de chine, rayon crepe, crinkled rayon, nylon)

All suiting and dresses in specialty fabrics should be dry cleaned. Dresses in cotton jersey, linen and linen blends can follow their fabric-specific care instructions above.
